The Director of Training is responsible for our operational franchisee, manager and hourly staff member training programs and resources, reporting to the Brand Lead for St. Louis Bar & Grill. In this role you will lead our team of Corporate Operations Trainers with enthusiasm, an excitement for training and with a view to provide development opportunities to each. You and your team will be responsible for our training and communication platform with a view to keep our St. Louis restaurant teams informed at all times. In this role you will:

  • Fulfil training for pipeline of New Store Openings (NSOs)
  • Schedule training team accordingly
  • Manage Training Team budget (departmental and team travel/meals)
  • Develop and direct the implementation of effective New Store Opening processes
    • Champion new approaches to NSO systems, process and practices toward the overall improvement of the long-term success of NSOs
    • Communicate with, coordinate and involve the various head office departments and suppliers to ensure effective NSOs
    • Ensure project workback plans are effectively executed
    • Effectively manage and meet project budgets
  • Design effective training materials to enhance restaurant skills, knowledge and execution of key programs
    • Develop and roll out job aids, training tools, seminars, etc. as assigned to support new and existing operations systems, tests and menu programs as assigned for the existing restaurants
  • Identify training and development needs through analysis, and by gathering regular feedback from key stakeholders
  • Implement and sustain a Learning Management System that delivers and tracks training initiatives and programs including LTO’s & Compliance etc. 
  • Design, implement and sustain tools and processes that drive the St. Louis culture of training and operations excellence
  • Develop multi-year operational and training plans with budgets and specific timelines
  • Create evaluation processes that validate the effectiveness of learning vs desired outcomes
  • Use metrics to continuously improve quality of learning and tools with established benchmarks
  • Coordinate all menu updates and launches
  • Edit training material to adhere to menu food and beverage specifications
  • Support other departments (operations, menu, marketing, IT) initiatives by providing training
  • Communicate training programs and opportunities to restaurants and Business Consultants

 

You bring with you:

  • 3+ years experience leading a hospitality training team within a franchise company
  • Degree or Diploma in related field
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Experience using MS Office as well as training platforms (i.e. e-learning platforms)
  • Experience building strong training materials for both Front of House and Back of House teams
  • Strong writing & language skills is required
  • Adaptable, energetic, and self-starting team player
  • Courteous & professional demeanor
